Yesterday turned out to be a lot of fun. We certainly appreciated the nice weather and the fact that the surf was high and rough enough to take some of the seaweed back out to sea.
Later in the day, we attended a going away party for our pals. They don't leave until this coming Sunday, so I doubt that party will be the last - but it certainly wasn't a bad way to spend a Sunday evening. The venue was just gorgeous. You'll note that scorched area there - some flames got a little too close a couple of weeks ago.
Can you imagine floating in your pool and staring at this every evening? BTW, I'm talking about the lights, not necessarily the floating head.
That munchkin's picture is what you see when you look up "water baby" in the dictionary. If there's water nearby, he's in it. The rest of us were stuffing our faces. There was a disturbing amount of food. I heard Nat's jerk chicken was so hot that Mr. X ended up with snot running out his nose and his eyes watering. I'm very upset I missed that photo opportunity. By the time I saw him, he was simply wondering whether his lips were swollen and debating if he should put ice on them to stop the burn.
There were also jello shots. I'll say the consistency was like snot, but Nat compared it to something else. Yeah, that too. We weren't as bad as it sounds - people had to work/run the next morning.
There was lots of conversation, lots of yelling over music that got louder and louder, and even a little dancing. For the kids - maybe a little nap.
It'll be interesting to see how many people in those photos are still here next year.
